Our delightful, self-catering, 18th Century Stone Cottage on the southern edge of the Exmoor National Park, is a rural gem blending rustic interiors with the highest quality furnishings and fittings.

Introduction

The village of Brushford is set between the River Barle and stunning beauty of the moors rising up to the West.

Nestling below the village’s 13 th Century church, this 18th Century cottage has recently been painstakingly restored and now offers the perfect escape for romantic country breaks or a luxurious base for an active weekend enjoying local activities.

Off road parking.  Outside tap and shed with padlock for bikes.

Private garden with shared access to orchard, pond and small river.

Well-behaved dogs are welcome.

Fine French linen and soft feather pillows will guarantee a blissful night’s sleep.  When you wake-up in the morning, step across sheepskin rugs for a quiet read in the dressing room.

After a day exploring the surroundings, hang your hat before retiring in front of a crackling wood burner, complementing the underfloor heating, will make you feel as snug as a bug in your own rug.

Nearby Dulverton provides a relaxed country-town atmosphere with a variety of independent shops and award-winning eateries.

Explore the unspoilt moorland, valleys, woodlands and wildlife of Exmoor National Park through cycling, a walk or in an air-conditioned safari. Or be amazed by a meteor shower in the Dark Sky reserve.

Take a trip back in time on the West Somerset Steam Train. Enjoy magnificent National Trust country estates like Knightshayes Court. Take a walk on the golden Saunton Sands, or fish for rainbow trout in Wimbleball lake.

We are passionate about Exmoor and promoting the very best it has to offer. We have carefully sourced local food and produce for your delight. Our hampers change with the seasons; at Easter you may find chocolate and in the summer sparkling elderflower cordial.

Practicalities

Parking

There is off road parking opposite the cottage.

Property owners (David and Nicky) live next door.


Arrivals and Departures

Arrival Days: Monday or Friday

Arrive from 4pm and Depart by 11am


EXTRAS

Chauffeur Service

£30 per journey

We can collect you and your bikes (if required) from Tiverton Parkway Railway Station. Just let us know at least 48 hours prior to arrival


Mid-stay House Keeping

Mid-stay clean - £35

Mid-stay Linen change - £45


Gun Safe

£50 deposit for key returnable on departure. The safe is suitable for 4 guns.


Dog Sitting Service

Dogs may not be left unattended at the cottage.  If you wish to visit somewhere where dogs are not welcome we can recommend a dog-sitter for you. There will be a charge for this service.

COMPLIMENTARY SERVICES

Food unpacking service

Order a supermarket delivery between 12-3pm on the day you're arriving and we will unpack it for you, ready for your arrival.

Waitrose, Sainsburys and Tescos all deliver to our postcode.

(This service is not always available so please check with us before ordering.)

We are happy to help and advise, just ask.


Fire Lighting Service

Let us know if you would like the fire lit for your arrival.


Baby Equipment

We provide a travel cot (linen is not provided) and high chair. Please just let us know prior to arrival.


Dogs

We provide a dog bed and bowls for food and water. Please just let us know prior to arrival.  Please note you can walk your dog straight from the cottage front door.
